David Padua

David Padua was born in London and studied French and German at Cambridge University and the Sorbonne. He subsequently attended Morley Opera School. Recent roles include Lensky, Eugene Onegin, and Malcolm, MacBeth (both with Park Opera), Eisenstein, Die Fledermaus, and Monostatos, The Magic Flute (both with Kensington Opera), Offizier, Ariadne auf Naxos (Longborough Festival Opera), Steersman, The Flying Dutchman, and Roderigo, Otello (both with Fulham Opera), Arbace and High Priest, Idomeneo (Rose Opera), Reverend Horace Adams, Peter Grimes, and First Grail Knight, Parsifal (both with Elemental Opera), Abdallo, Nabucco (Brent Opera), and Second Philistine, Samson et Dalila (Grimeborn Festival). David created the roles of Bob, Hello Alice, and Porter, The Porter in new compositions with Green Opera, and performed as Tenor Soloist in Mozart’s Requiem with Mosaic Chamber Choir. Recently, David was accepted on the Pegasus Opera Mentoring Programme, and was mentored by Ronald Samm. David and performed in Pegasus Opera Company’s Legacy and Hope concert in 2020.

David Padua’s rendition of Lensky’s Aria from Yevgeny Onegin was, for me, an object lesson in how to inhabit a lyric and communicate the content.
