Melody is a London based opera singer with Caribbean heritage, graduated in vocal studies from Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and two years with Trinity Music College.
Melody was a former member of the amateur BBC choir, where she sang solo and
choral parts in a production of Brahms’s German Requiem under the baton of Tom Service and Ashley Wass.
Melody took part in the Classical Opera Company course in the production of scenes from Puccini’s, Manon Lescaut in the lead role.
In 2019 Melody gave a recital for the opening of a new music venue, Wick St Farm in Polegate, East Essex, with works by Gershwin and Puccini.
2020 saw Melody participating in the first Pegasus Opera Company Mentor
Programme, studying with Alison Buchanan. This included a master class with Sir Willard White and performing the role of ‘the maid’ in a Pegasus production of Haggermen’s, The Aspern papers in the spring of 2022.
Melody has worked on several community projects for The Black Hero’s Foundation, ‘Windrush’ project with Pegasus and English Chamber Orchestra.
Melody has performed with “In Celebration Of My Sisters” for a number of years and was involved in the launch of Newham Music Trust’s week of lunch time events performing ‘Silver Screen Songs’ along side operatic classics like ‘O Sole mio’, Habanera and Musseta’s aria. Melody is often taking part in charity functions events for The Black sea Ukrainian charity and Just be women’s charity.
Melody has a wide vocal repertoire covering Mozart, Puccini, Wolf, Strauss, Verdi, Gershwin, Rachmaninoff and Silver screen classics.
She is currently preparing for her role as Amelia in Verdi’s Un Ballo in Maschera,
amongst other projects.
