Opera Mentoring Programme

Opera Mentoring
Programme

A mentorship scheme which gives classical artists from African, Caribbean and Asian backgrounds the opportunity to receive one to one coaching from seasoned professionals.

After the success of our partnership with Glyndebourne on our 2021/2022 programme, Pegasus Opera Company will partner with Glyndebourne again for the 2023 Opera Mentoring programme.

Pegasus Opera Company are delighted to open applications for their acclaimed opera mentoring programme, taking place in Summer 2023. This bespoke programme will help you to hone your skills as a classical artist and help you plan your next steps as you navigate your way through the opera industry.

The 2023 scheme welcomes applications from singers, directors and répétiteurs  to take part as mentees in the scheme

As well as being paired with mentors who have extensive experience in the operatic sector, you will have the opportunity to take part in a masterclass with a leading artist of the opera world and sing/play in/ direct a concert to celebrate the end of the programme in Autumn 2023. Four mentees will be selected from the full mentee cohort to take part in the Glyndebourne partnership, providing exclusive access to the summer festival and insights into life working in a world-class opera company.

The training delivered in this programme focuses on developing technique, audition/interview preparation, rehearsal room skills, and career development advice.

We offer a £350 bursary to each successful mentee

The programme for all mentees includes:

  • 2 one-to-one sessions with your mentor
  • 2 Masterclasses
  • 1 performance opportunity at the end of the programme
  • Opportunities to observe rehearsals and performances with a professional company company
  • Feedback meeting
